EFFECT OF AUDIO-VISUAL MATERIALS ON READING ABILITY AMONG PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPILS IN DELTA NORTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT, DELTA STATE
Abstract
This research explored the effect of audio-visual materials on reading ability among primary school pupils in Delta North Senatorial District. To effectively carryout the research three research questions and three hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The quasi experimental research design is adopted for the study. The population of the study consists of all the primary five pupils in Delta North Senatorial District of Delta State .A sample of 124 (58 male and 66 female) primary five (5) pupils was drawn for the study using purposive and simple random sampling techniques. Data was collected using the Reading Ability Test (RAT) developed by the researchers. The data collected was analyzed using mean, standard deviation and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). Recommendations were made based on the findings.
