Abstract

The passage from 1 Corinthians 9:19-23, where Paul speaks of becoming “all things to all men” to win souls for Christ, presents a unique challenge for Christian leaders in Nigeria today. Nigeria, a country marked by ethnic diversity, religious pluralism, and socio-political tensions, requires a leadership approach that is both flexible and contextually sensitive. This paper explores the relevance of Paul’s missionary strategy for Christian leaders in Nigeria, where leaders must navigate the complexities of ministering to diverse communities without compromising core Christian values. The challenges of tribalism, inter-religious dialogue, political instability, and the influence of Western secularism complicate the task of leadership in a rapidly changing society. Drawing from Paul's example, this paper examines how Nigerian Christian leaders can effectively engage in contextualized ministry while maintaining their integrity and the transformative power of the Gospel. The study emphasizes the need for cultural sensitivity, servant leadership, and the wisdom to balance inclusivity with doctrinal faithfulness in the Nigerian context, where religious tensions and ethical challenges often test the boundaries of compromise
