Entrenching Islamic Moral Education in Girls' Secondary Schools in Nigeria
Abstract
The study aimed at entrenching Islamic moral education in girls' secondary schools in Nigeria due to the increasing need of improving girl child development. This area of study has not been given adequate research or emphasis. To achieve the set objectives of this research, an analytic cross-sessional method was adopted. The research also benefitted from secondary sources which included published books, journal articles, digital information and seminar papers. These materials proved useful in providing the necessary information on the subject matter. Some of the findings include: Moral education helps one to distinguish between right and wrong; it reflects in one's personality and it helps in building a good personal and professional life. The study concluded that Islamic moral education is germane to the overall character development of girls in schools and colleges. Finally, the study recommended that teachers should adopt appropriate methodology in instructional activities and the interest of the learner must always be considered and the difference between parental value and school value be harmonized.
