Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Ìjíròrò accepts articles by undergraduate or graduate students of philosophy, but not from those with terminal degrees. Topics may be from any area of contemporary interest in philosophy or its history with particular interest in African approach alongside other relevant discourses on socio-political issues.
Accordingly, the following guidelines must be strictly observed:
1. Manuscripts must be 1.5 spaced, with indented paragraphing using font size 12 (Times New Roman) and should NOT be more than 7000 words, notes and bibliography inclusive.
2. Contributions are welcomed in British English only. Contributors are encouraged to stick to the British English and be consistent.
3. Reference style is the Chicago Manual for both footnotes and bibliography (no endnotes please).
4. Submissions must be electronic, saved as a Word document NOT PDF; and
5. All manuscripts MUST BE ORIGINAL contributions; they should NOT be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts will be examined through an electronic plagiarism checker.
