The Trinitarian Tripod as Inevitable Foundation for Good Governance and Effective Leadership in Nigeria
Abstract
This paper looks at the reality of bad government and the propensity in man to dominate others which can eventually lead to dictatorship with the resultant effect of chaos in any nation where such is allowed to thrive. It also looks at leadership in government and critiques when a regime is said to be good or bad. It then moves on to raise a fundamental question as to why there is bad government at all. Starting with the social viewpoint, it dwells on the theological analyses of the origin of such a reality to see what possible solutions there could be to remedy it. This is done through a speculative and theological synthesis of the origin of man – his fallen nature and the possibility of correcting the human error of bad government, using the Trinitarian tripod of divine government revealed in the economic trinity as the sole solution to this human predicament. It is definitely only in recourse to the original design could man ever trace the right route to tread in leading fellow men.
