Reflections on Translation Studies in Nigeria

Abstract

I must start by expressing my heartfelt gratitude to the organisers of ATSA Group in Nigeria for inviting me to deliver the maiden conference keynote address. My joy in being here is further strengthened for the simple reason that I am at home; Delta State being my father‘s home state. I commend the untiring efforts of the organisers in making this conference a reality. No doubt, they must have worked very hard over the past few months. The university also deserves our appreciation for graciously agreeing to host the conference.
