Abstract

This paper explores various teaching methods within the context of Nigeria's education system, examining their philosophical underpinnings and potential for improving educational outcomes. Through a comprehensive literature review and analysis of current educational practices, the study investigates traditional and contemporary teaching approaches, their effectiveness, and their applicability to the Nigerian context. Key aspects explored include student-centered learning, technology integration, culturally responsive pedagogy, and collaborative learning strategies. The findings indicate that a diverse, culturally sensitive, and learner-centered approach to teaching shows promise in enhancing student engagement, critical thinking, and overall educational quality in Nigeria. Despite challenges such as resource constraints and deeply ingrained traditional practices, the study concludes that adopting a more holistic and inclusive teaching philosophy can significantly contribute to improving education in Nigeria.
