Abstract

This paper examined the strategies for repositioning the adult and Non-Formal Education towards developing the needed human resources and achieving sustainable youth empowerment and national development. It is based on the aspirations of national development that the paper described the ways by which the adult education and non-Formal education curriculum, pedagogy and instructional approach should be in order to help achieve effective and efficient human resources that are required for the sustainable development of the society. It was therefore concluded that repositioning the Adult Education and Non-Formal Education will provide adequate human resources to drive the wheel of the society to a desirable destination. However, it was recommended that the society’s interest should be considered while designing Adult Education and Non-formal Education curriculum; and Adult Education Instructors should be adequately motivated to provide effective repositioning efforts on human resources development for Youth Empowerment and National Development.
