Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

NIGERIAN JOURNAL OF PHILOSOPHICAL STUDIES (NJPS) A PUBLICATION OF ASSOCIATION OF PHILOSOPHY PROFESSIONALS OF NIGERIA (APPON) CALL FOR PAPERS

The above named journal hereby invites scholars in philosophy and allied disciplines to submit well researched papers for publication in the 2022. This journal is aimed at providing scholars in philosophy and related disciplines in Arts and Humanities a peer reviewed platform for the publication of their philosophical reflections and research findings in line with formal techniques and highest standards of philosophical scholarship. This journal will be receptive of well treated issues from all philosophical traditions (African, western, oriental etc.) and will also be non-discriminatory of any school of thoughts and trends. But like any philosophical thought system that sources its raw materials for reflections from its environment and culture, this Nigeria Journal of Philosophical Studies encourages scholars to focus largely on highlighting and advancing a reasoned way forward on the challenges of theAfrican continent in general and Nigeria in particular.

AUTHOR'S SUBMITTING PAPERS TO NJPS SHOULD COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES:

Ø Papers must be well researched and properly referenced.

Ø Length of manuscripts must not exceed 6000 words including the bibliography.

Ø Manuscripts must not be submitted in MS word format, Times New Roman, Font 12 and should be in double spacing.

Ø The recommended referencing style is Chicago Manual Style (17th edition).

Ø All papers must have an abstract of not more than 250 words. The abstract state the focus of the paper, research method, findings and recommendations if applicable or conclusion with key operational concepts.

Ø Submissions will be peer-reviewed at a non-refundable cost of 5000 only (Reviewer's comments shall be communicated within one month of submission).

Ø Where the paper is found publishable (with or without corrections), a clean copy shall be required for publication together with a fifteen thousand naira (15,000) publication fee
