EXPANDING DEFINITIONS OFAFRICAN PHILOSOPHY WITHIN THE EDGES OF AFRICAN PREDICAMENTS
Abstract
This paper is an exercise in the redefinition and or expanding the formal definitions of African philosophy within the edges of African predicaments. I will try in this paper (by accommodating already existing definitions of African philosophy) to redefine it again to include our experiences of many years of African difficulties and exploitation, probably as a wounded and neglected African scholar. Therefore, beyond the formal and etymological definitions, traditional and scholarly definitions, there is this succinct definition of African philosophy within the edges of African predicaments and perplexities. It is simply a redefinition of African philosophy as a disciplinary movement. Using the method of critical analysis, the research offers a new definitional appreciation of African philosophy as a result of centuries of African quandary.
