THE SIMULATION OF VASES WITH SLICED AUTOMOBILE INNER TUBE.
Abstract
This study reports on a creative approach of vase simulation involving the combination of ceramics and functional sculptures with sliced automobile inner tube. Its major concern is the application of sculptural processes like armature constructions, manipulation of both solid and flexible media (mild steel rods and the automobile inner tube) into vases making. The study aims at widening the practical techniques, procedural range and alternations of sculpture and ceramics in order to integrate the three-dimensional ateliers to inspire further studies. Therefore, this study aims at the exploration of new process, media and techniques to breed new possibilities for the advancement of three-dimensional art. The literature review encompasses the analyses of works that relate to the study in terms of medium and forms while retaining its individuality in terms of approach and application of sliced automobile inner tube in vases making. Explorations of new techniques and media are recommended to constraint the reiteration of conventional approaches that usually lead to invariable outcomes.
