The Context of Social Justice in Kemi Adetiba’s King of Boys: The Return of the King (2021)
摘要
The concept of social justice ensures the promotion of good over evil. Films and other literary forms in Nigeria engender the promotion of social justice through a deliberate enthronement of good over evil. Thus villainous characters are built to encounter public hatred while heroes are constructed to enjoy public sympathies. This simple arrangement becomes even more complex when a character embodies the duplicity of villainy and heroism. Using the content analytical approach of the qualitative research method, the researchers evaluated the concept of social justice as represented in Kemi Adetiba’s King of Boys: The Return of the King (2021) as a literary complex. The researchers concluded that in order to understand the true nature of justice and how it can be achieved in society, it is important to investigate and evaluate the relationships between people and the systems they exist in.
