IGWEBUIKE: An Operative Condition of African Philosophy Religion and Culture
2021The present lecture on Igwebuike: The Operative Condition of African Philosophy, Religion and Culture- Towards a Thermodynamic Transformative Ontology is the researcher's contribution to the ongoing discourse on the operative conditions of reality. Igwebuike, in the researcher's perspective, is the moving spirit and the pivot upon which African philosophy, religion and culture revolve, thus, the key to the understanding of African Traditional religion, culture and philosophy. It is thermodynamic because of the interdependence and complementarity of the elements of the African universe, which characterizes the African way of thinking, feeling, talking and responding to various human conditions. Igwebuike which is an Igbo proverb and proper name forms the 'tool box', the trajectory system and the practical art for the development of this inaugural lecture.

INTRODUCTION
Igwebuike is essentially a transcendent complementary comprehensive systematic effort to understand the structure and dynamics of reality ultimately for the purpose of giving honest answers to fundamental questions or opinions to questions that arise within the arena of asking questions and questioning answers, selfless enlightenment and furthering of human happiness. In this search for truth, Igwebuike, within an integrated systematic framework, strives beyond all forms of particularities, peculiarities, paradoxes and contradictions and espouses the path of complementation, therefore, showing how realities can relate to one another in a mutually harmonized nonabsolutistic mode.
This piece studies the dimensions of Igwebuike, which include its place within the theater of being, and its literal and linguistic meanings. It also searches for the basis of inter-subjectivity in the African worldview conceptualized in Igwebuike philosophy, and this it locates in Chi. The next two papers study aspects of Plutarch’s ethical-political thought in comparison with the Igwebuike philosophy and employed Igwebuike as an ontological toolbox that forms the trajectory system of the Igbo-African world. There are further inquiries on the relationship between Igwebuike and the liberation and ethics.
There is also a study of the relationship between Igwebuike ideology and the “I – Thou” philosophy of Martin Buber, which the author avers are both geared towards an authentic human existence. It further inquires into the possibility of the Igwebuike principle of complementarity advancing interreligious dialogue and modern efforts towards conflict resolution. There is also a discourse on the relationship between Igwebuike as a philosophy and leadership.
This piece remains a major contribution to the corpus of literature on Igwebuike philosophy. I, therefore, introduce this piece to all lovers of African philosophy, religion and culture.

INTRODUCTION
In this work, Igwebuike is employed as a unifying concept of African thought, especially, that aspect concerning the human person’s conception of the spiritual and material universe in which he or she lives. It is an explanatory theory or principle that interprets the puzzle of our complex relationship with the non-corporal world and human social life, that is, major social institutions that ensure social continuity and group identity, and further, underpins the epistemological manifestations of the human person’s universe.
Different thinkers from different backgrounds in this book have brought different tastes of Igwebuike perspective on the table of discourse on Igwebuike philosophy. A co-relation between Igwebuike and the African worldview was made, followed by a study of the relevance of Igwebuike philosophy within the context of insecurity. The Igbo kola nut, being a very important symbol in Igbo ontology is studied in relation to Igwebuike philosophy. There is also the study of the relevance of Igwebuike philosophy and the management of corona virus pandemic (Covid-19); it also studies Igwebuike as the basis for science and technology in Africa and the key to understanding African traditional religion.
Recently, the struggle towards the liberation of African women has taken a centre stage in efforts towards liberation. Igwebuike principle is also employed in this regard showing how it stands for respect for alterity, equality and equity. There is also an evaluation of the relationship between Igwebuike and belongingness, and the place of consciousness in the understanding of Igwebuike philosophy. This was concluded with a chapter on the relationship between Igwebuike philosophy and human resource management.
This piece remains a major contribution to the corpus of literature on Igwebuike philosophy. I, therefore, introduce this piece to all lovers of African philosophy, religion and culture.

INTRODUCTION
The concept Igwebuike began first as a methodology and philosophy. Gradually, its philosophical elements began to have serious implications for theological discourse, especially with the increasing need to do theology that arises from the philosophy of the African people. Such a theology would always have an inescapable element of philosophy, speaking to people in their own native context, because it is expressed in categories of thought that arises out of the philosophy of the African people. This affirms the reality of the link between philosophy and theology, especially regarding the links between the great philosophical questions and the mysteries of salvation which are studied in theology under the guidance of the higher light of faith. In Igwebuike theology, theology takes on the form of a bridge that connects the human person who lives within the context of a changing culture to God who is beyond the law of change.
The first paper in this collection of essays, focuses on Igwebuike theology of Ikwa Ogwe which attempts at building a bridge between two conflicting inheritances or worldviews of the African Christian: the Western heritage and the heritage of his/her ancestors. This is followed by Igwebuike theology of Omenani and Udi in relation to the understanding of culture as the seed of the Word of God, which already pre-existed in Africa even before the emergence of the Western missionaries. There is also a focus on Igwebuike as a traditional mode of communication.
Igwebuike as a complementary and holistic method of inquiry is also employed in the study of the relationship between the 1883 Code of Canon Law and the Second Vatican Council. This method is employed in the study of the Canon Law and the Holy Bible and the relationship between the Code of Canon Law and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Focusing on the Scripture, the Ninevites' reaction to Jonah's preaching of doom (Jonah 3:1-10) and the message of unity and harmony in Psalm 133 are studied in relation to Igwebuike philosophy.
This piece remains a major contribution to the corpus of literature on Igwebuike theology. I, therefore, introduce this piece to all lovers of African theology, culture and philosophy.
