Critique of Hume's Metaphysical Nihilism

Abstract

Having discussed Hume's rejection of metaphysics above, this chapter is devoted to a critical look at Hume's criticism of metaphysics. We are embarking on criticism of criticism. But one thing we should note is that no being is absolutely bad or absolutely good. Since goodness is one of the transcendental properties of being, it follows that there is polarity of positive and negative in the world. No matter how most metaphysicians may frown at Hume's treatment of metaphysics, it is worthy of note to make these few commendations.
