Résumé

The biblical account of parenting styles in 1 Samuel 2 reveals that children are subjected to the approaches applied by parents in nurturing and molding them. The contemporary Nigerian society has shown a shift from the old concept of parenting, which involves discipline, instilling a sense of responsibility, diligence at home chores, a big premium placed on respect and culture. This research work examined the extent to which the parenting styles of Hannah have provided a paradigm for contemporary parenting. The style of parenting adopted by Hannah seemed to bring redemption of the Israel, and children of parents emulating this style of parenting can become independent, disciplined, self-confident, creativ, thoughtfulness and empathy.
