AN ALL-ROUND EDUCATIONAL PEDAGOGY IN THE LIGHT OF ARISTOTLE’S THEORY OF EDUCATION
Abstract
All-round Educational Pedagogy is a method that takes human being holistically (physically, morally, intellectually, and spiritually) in its endeavor to nurture, accompany, lead, rear, bring up, guide, and help him or her. It considers this endeavor as a responsibility of the family, parents, community, educational ministries, friends, caretaker, servants, churches, government, elders, leaders, educators, non-teaching personnel, systems and society. It puts student and teacher on the same pedestal as fellow servants who search and discover in a way that they keep searching with love in solidarity. This system has not been put to practice in our modern educational systems and as a result the family, church institutions, society, government are suffering the cataclysm and conflagration of that especially in the developing countries. This article calls for an implementation of the All-round educational pedagogy in our modern educational systems for the production of skilled and honest human beings in society. The article synthesized Aristotle’s theory of education and the modern educational pedagogy and gave us an All-round educational pedagogy, and it did that using Socrates’ dialectical methodology.
